Fiber Optic Association Changes to Certifications

AVO Training Institute’s Fiber Optic Splicing courses are approved to provide certifications through the Fiber Optic Association (FOA). The FOA announced earlier this month, that they are making some changes in certifications. The AFOT (Advanced Fiber Optic Technician) and CFospT certifications are being phased out while some content has been added to other certifications.

Our Fiber Optic Splicing and Testing, Basic course which qualifies technicians for the FOA Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) certification will still be offered, but we are in the process of developing new learning modules for this program to meet the FOA’s new CFOT requirements. The course duration will increase by one day, to cover the new materials.

The Fiber Optic Splicing and Testing, Advanced course will be offered for final presentation on November 12-16 at AVO’s DFW Airport Training Center. To register for this final presentation please contact your Account Executive directly.

To be updated when the new course details come out, please let your Account Executive know.
